Praised for his "vocally magnificent, radiant and distinctive tenor” (Opera Aktuell), this season Jonathan Tetelman signed an exclusive multi album agreement with leading record label Deutsche Grammophon and has since begun recording his debut album of arias and duets. Additionally this season, he makes three major role and company debuts: as Stiffelio with Opéra national du Rhin, Jacopo Foscari alongside Placido Domingo in I due Foscari with Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and as Loris Ipanow in Fedora with Oper Frankfurt. He also returns his signature role of Mario Cavaradossi in a new production of Tosca in his debut with Theater an der Wien. During the summer, Jonathan presents a number of concerts throughout Austria, Spain and Latvia alongside maestro Karel Mark Chichon and superstar mezzo, Elina Garanca. Copenhagen will host Jonathan for the 169th Tivioli Festival Birthday Gala and Sweden for a Gala honoring Birgit Nilsson. Mr. Tetelman completes his 2022 season at the Grand Teton Music Festival for concerts of Puccini’s La boheme.

Last season, he returned to Semperoper Dresden as B.F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, made his Deutsche Oper Berlin debut as Paolo in Francesca da Rimini, his first performances of Canio in Pagliacci in a return to Teatro Regio Torino, returned to the role of Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca with Opéra de Lille, and sang Don José in Carmen alongside star mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča in a concert tour of Eastern Europe which was broadcast on Bartók Radio.

Mr. Tetelman recently made his Royal Opera House at Covent Garden debut as both Alfredo in La traviata and Rodolfo in La bohème, sang Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca with Teatro Regio Torino, Semperoper Dresden and Gran Teatre del Liceu, made his role debut as B.F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Opéra national de Montpellier, sang the title role of Werther with both Gran Teatro Nacional de Lima and Opera del Teatro Solis, Rodolfo in La bohème with Komische Oper Berlin, English National Opera and Fujian Grand Theatre in China, and Duca in Rigoletto with Berkshire Opera Festival.

On the concert stage, Mr. Tetelman has sung Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the San Francisco Symphony under Maestro Michael Tilson Thomas and with the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker under Maestro Dan Ettinger, joined soprano Kristine Opolais in a gala performance in Moscow as well as with the Wurth Philharmoniker in Künzelsau. He also recently joined the Copenhagen Philharmonic for a Verdi Gala. He has sung Verdi’s Requiem with the Tanglewood Music Festival and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Milan Festival Orchestra, and the Greenwich Village Orchestra, Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius with the Orchestra Now, both Dvorak’s Requiem and Stabat Mater with the St. George’s Choral Society, and joined soprano Nadine Sierra in concert at Festival Napa Valley.

Mr. Tetelman completed the graduate performance studies program at The New School of Music, Mannes College and earned his undergraduate degree from Manhattan School of Music. He was born in Castro, Chile and grew up in central New Jersey.
