CURRENT REPERTOIRE
While studying the piano at École Normale de Musique de Paris and musicology at the Sorbonne university, Christophe Poncet de Solages joined the Notre-Dame de Paris singers. He has attended masterclasses with Vera Rózsa, Martin Isepp, Howard Crook, Eric Tappy and Rachel Yakar among others. His thorough musical background (having studied the piano, the organ, harmony and counterpoint), and his taste for languages account for his varied repertoire.
His first appearance on stage took place in Stravinsky's Œdipus Rex (staged version). He has been a guest of the Rosendal Music Chamber Festival, performing Письмо Зайцева, (Zaitsev’s letter) by Alexander Vustin ("Theatrical music making of this standard does not get more compelling", from an Opera Wire review). On several occasions he was invited by Mikko Franck and Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, performing Strauss (Elektra), and Wagner (Tristan und Isolde). He has sung for the reopening of the Grange Festival in the United Kingdom (Carmen). He took part in the premiere recording of Offenbach's Voyage dans la Lune withe the Palazzetto Bru Zane.
He has performed Tchaikovsky (die Zauberin) as well as Stravinsky (Renard) at the Opéra de Lyon. He has been a guest of the Nationale Opera in Amsterdam (Strauss, Salome).
He has frequently performed Verdi (Rigoletto, Traviata, and also the Messa da Requiem) with Opera a Palazzo in Paris.
He has recently been invited by Kirill Petrenko and the Berliner Philharmoniker, thus making his debut on a german stage, performing two roles in Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame, at the Osterfestspiele in Baden-Baden, as well as the Berlin Philharmonie. He has also been a recent guest of the J.S.Bach festival in Chișinău.
On the occasion of the 2025 George Enescu festival, he will begin his first collaboration with the WDR Sinfonieorchester, under the baton of maestro Cristian Măcelaru.
