Paul Gaugler graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. He has worked with Viorica Cortez and Ludovic Tézier.
He is a laureate of the Armel Opera and Vincenzo Bellini competitions.
As a heroic tenor, he sings Radamès in Aida and Pollione in Norma (Chisinau National Opera), Don José in Carmen (Lviv National Opera), Faust in The Damnation of Faust (cover at Glyndebourne Festival), the title role in Dante (Opéra de SaintÉtienne), Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos (Royaumont), Boris in Katia Kabanova (Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Paris) Grand prix du Syndicat de la Critique.
Among his other roles: Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto (Pilsen Opera, Szeged National Theatre), the title role in Gounod's Faust (Poznan Opera, La Seine Musicale, Paris), Tamino in Die Zauberflöte (Palais des Festivals, Cannes), Harlekin in Der Kaiser von Atlantis (Grand Théâtre d'Aix-en-Provence)...
He creates the roles of Selim in Thierry Pécou's Les Sacrifiées (Rouen, Massy, Reims opera houses) and Victor in Laurent Petitgirard's Guru (Szczecin Opera House). He was also featured in the soundtrack of the film Ténor.
